WOW – These are NOT real babies!

Amy Cosford makes babies for television.  Ummm – well, if you have a dirty mind like me, you may be having some shockingly sensual thoughts of adult TV programming right now.  No – she does not make REAL babies!  She actually makes dolls that resemble real babies.

The resemblance is remarkable.  Remarkable enough that they have been featured on the television series “Outrageous Fortune”.  "I was really excited to know my dolls were doubles for baby Jane," she said to Auckland City Harbour News.

Well, from what I have seen, you can dress these dolls in funny onesies, bring them to the playground, and have all the other mothers oow and aww at them.   More information on the dolls can be found at www.immaculatecreations.co.nz.

Go Google It!

Go google it – how often have you heard that before?  When I first heard it, I was a yahoo-o-phite, and did not appreciate the phrase very much.  Well now it is formally a verb because “googling” is in the 11th edition of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary.

Sounds great for Google, eh?  Not so fast – such acceptance by the public comes at a price.  With “googling” becoming a verb, it leaves the door open for others to profit off the word.  Questions about weather funny onesies with “I Google” infringe on the Google trademark.

The situation reminds me of the Kleenex brand of facial tissue – I was brought up thinking that all facial tissues were called Kleenexes!  Not really too bad for the Kleenex brand, because to this day when I go shopping I select Kleenex facial tissues.  Hmmm – maybe I should produce some funny onesies that uses – or abuses – the word “kleenex”!
