Making Your Own Baby Food
These are tough economic times. It's hard to buy funny onesies, and when it comes to buying baby food - forget about it!
So what is a parent to do? Well, my wife makes her own baby food - and I don't mean breast milk! She'll boil a bunch of veggies, and maybe some meats. Then she'll blend them into a puree, and then freeze the nutritional glop.
Before you try this, you have to make sure your baby is not alergic to any of the components of the above mentioned glop. Basically, you give your baby a little bit of the food in question, and make sure there is no reaction. Call and ask your pediatrician for the correct procedure to do this!
So anyway, My wife boils all the food and blends it all together. If your baby is old enough, you can try chicken or beef - perhaps other meats my wife has not tried like turkey. Anyway, after it is a lovely green mixture, you just freeze it away. My wife uses ice cube trays to do this - the food comes out as nice units of baby food blocks.
In addition to veggies and meats, my wife also likes to mix up fruits - apples, pears, and plums mainly. I must admit - I kind of like the taste of the fruit mix :)
